Thailand offers a wonderful array of arts and crafts, some of which are unique to this country.

The country’s rich historical, cultural and religious history has enabled many of these traditional crafts to survive for many centuries and continue to be available for shoppers today.

In addition to these traditional items, Thai designers and craftspeople have created new products with a contemporary but still unmistakable Thai feel.

This chapter aims to help the casual visitor as well as the serious collector to identify the main places to locate uniquely Thai products.

Many shops, markets and department stores in Bangkok sell Thai products amongst their range. This chapter, however, focuses on specific shops and locations that specialize in Thai products.

Opening hours: most of the shops listed are open daily; opening details are listed only for those not open every day. Stalls at the Chatuchak (Jatujak) weekend market are generally open from around 1000-1800hrs on Saturdays and Sundays.
